A Sale-A-Bration Challenge!

I took an online demonstrator challenge to use this basic format, but I added to the challenge: I needed to make a sample using one of the Sale-a-Bration sets, and I also wanted to challenge myself to use these colors... they aren't really my favorites. I used Basic Brown, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, and Taken with Teal. (Don't get me wrong... I love the colors individually, but I wasn't sure I liked them in this combination, and the designer series paper I was using had this combination.)

Much to my surprise, after it was all done, the colors grew on me! Not your typical winter or spring colors, but I was in the mood for a change!

My Digital Studio!

I got my preview copy of My Digital Studio, and my first project was to design a card for Allison Neal's upcoming work shop, using the 2009-2010 In Colors, and the new set, Razzle Dazzle. Remember, this is alllllll digital. I haven't created it with paper & ink yet!

Another simple, bright card! I love the springy Raspberry Tart DSP [designer series paper]! I used the Sweet Stems stamp set, a circle punch, the scalloped square punch (with Pirouette Pink CS), Rose Red CS, Ice Rhinestone Brads, and the Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla satin ribbon. Oh, and the Sincere Salutations stamp set in Whisper White!

April showers.... I think it's supposed to be rain, not SNOW!

Six inches of snow on April 1. No joke! I'm ready for spring, but it snowed again today. But spring is alive with my stamps and ink.

Dreams du Jour stamp set, Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette papers, and Kiwi Kiss and Real Red markers and ink.

Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper, Polka Dot Punches and Congrats stamp sets, and the lovely Certainly Celery twill ribbon, along with a rhinestone brad make a bright and cheery card!

I love my Embosslits and Texturz Plates!

Such easy elegance! I love Sahara Sand and Whisper White together. I used the SU! exclusive Texturz background, the scalloped edge punch, and both the Sweetest Stems and Flower Embosslits. And the new white organza ribbon and a pearl from the Pretties Kit. The words are from the Together Forever stamp set, and are stamped with Whisper White craft ink.

I got to play tonight!

I wanted to play with some new papers and supplies I hadn't used yet, and I was going for fast and easy!

The first card uses the new Ski Slope Designer Series paper, Flower Fusion Too felt flowers, Real Red Grosgrain ribbon, Baja Breeze CS and ink, and the Snow Burst & Heard from the Heart stamp sets.

This next card was ridiculously simple, but I like the way it turned out. I used the urban Garden DSP, Baja Breeze CS, Not Quite Navy ink, Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon, and the Heard from the Heart Stamp set.

I love the Moose You set! So cute, and very appropriate for Fall! I used Autumn Vine DSP, Kraft CS for the card base, and I stamped the flower image with Creamy Caramel ink. The moose is Chocolate Chip (yep, non-fattening chocolate moose!), and the leaves are Sage Shadow, stamped on Whisper White, mounted on Chocolate Chip paper. All neatly accented with More Mustard Grosgrain.

Last, but not least, I wanted to experiment with the Roof Garden Accents & Elements. I used Whisper White CS, the Roof Garden stickers, and stamped the sentiment from the Inspired by Nature set in Not Quite Navy. The card is very crisp and clean. I'm looking forward to playing more with these accents! Easy to use, and I love the colors!

My First Post!

I've never blogged before, but I have been inspired by so many great stamping blogs, and decided that perhaps I should start sharing, too!

I'll start with a bit about myself. I've been a stamper for about 10 years, so I'm relatively new to the craft. After a couple of years, I discovered Stampin' Up!, and I've been in love ever since! At first I was thrilled with the fact that the papers and inks MATCHED! Some people are not so picky, but that was a pet-peeve of mine... clashing colors! AND I hated the fact that finding ink refills was so hard. I bought a lot of stamp pads! Now I just buy refills!

I was a loyal customer for about 3 years, and then my loyal demonstrator moved. So I became a demonstrator myself. And I love it. Wish I could give up my day job and focus on my "fun" job, but 28 years of seniority in a good job with good benefits is not something you give up easily.
